Rob Petersen, Managing Director



With over 30 years experience in marketing services and agency management predominantly in Wales, Rob has won a number of marketing and advertisement effectiveness awards including Precision Marketing’s Best National Newspaper Campaign for direct response, a regional I.P.A. Effectiveness Award for the Royal Mint campaign and a Chartered Institute of Marketing award for the Harleyford Golf Resort campaign.

Rob oversaw numerous public information campaigns for the Welsh Office and the National Assembly for Wales including Community Charge, Salmonella, and Referendum campaigns, and also led the very successful team which originally launched the St. David’s Hotel & Spa, establishing it as a Cardiff Bay landmark with over £1million of media coverage during its first week of opening.

As Managing Director, Rob’s role at Petersens involves overseeing and managing client projects, handling budgets and developing new business opportunities. He believes strongly in Corporate Social Responsibility and is involved with Tenovus Cancer Charity, The Prince’s Trust Cymru, acts as role model under the WAG Dynamo scheme and sits on the Cardiff University Employability Board.

Louise Yau, Account Director

Louise graduated from Swansea University in 2000 with a 2:1 degree in English Literature and American Studies. She worked as an English Language Teacher in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, for two years before returning to Wales and completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Public & Media Relations at Cardiff University.

Louise began her agency career with Petersens back in 2003 and moved on to another PR agency before moving in-house to National online learning provider learndirect. Here she worked in a number of communications roles covering Marketing, PR, Public Affairs, Stakeholder management and Partnership projects.

Phoebe graduated from Cardiff University in 2016 with a First Class Honours degree in Journalism, Media and English Literature. During her time at university Phoebe worked as a Marketing Intern, as well as undertaking work experience at Buzz Magazine and a number of third-sector organisations in Cardiff.

Ellé Holley, Account Executive

Ellé graduated with a 2:1 in English Literature from Cardiff University in 2017. She undertook two internships at university, working specifically in marketing, and undertook several promotional positions, such as within the Careers and Employability department.

Cath Clarke, Account Assistant

Cath has been working with Rob for over ten years. She spent ten years working for Lloyds Bank after completing a secretarial course at Christie College, Cheltenham. She has also worked as a travel advisor for both a chain and an independent tour operator. Cath’s role at Petersens involves office management and account administration.

Outside of Petersens Cath is actively involved in the cancer charity Tenovus.


Ruth Parry, Welsh Language Consultant

Ruth Parry began her career as a teacher for six years in Cardiff and spent two years teaching in the Anglo–English School in Libya. She launched ‘Si – lwli’, the only Welsh speaking day nursery in Cardiff in 1991 – 2001 and has been a Govenor of Ysgol Gyfan Gymraeg Plasmawr Cardiff since 1997.

Ruth has produced numerous programmes for the BBC with an education element including a seminar on the new Education Act 1998 and its effects. Ruth works closely with Rob Petersen on the St Athan Metrix account and attended exhibitions as required as Welsh language representative. Ruth also works with Rob Petersen on the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society Editorial and Publicity Committee.

Catrin Roberts, Welsh Translator

Catrin has worked with Petersens for over five years and undertakes the majority of the translations required. She has a BA (Hons) in Welsh and has worked for the Welsh Assembly Government, BBC Wales, Ofcom and Wales Millennium Centre to name a few. Catrin lives in Cardiff and is a member of the Association of Welsh Translators and Interpreters.

Sarah Vining, Senior Consultant

Sarah has worked with Petersens on various client projects. She is an experienced marketing consultant who gained her experience working as Head of Marketing for the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea, Director of Valleys Arts Marketing and Marketing/PR Manager for Techniquest.

Alan George, Consultant

Alan is a vastly knowledgeable corporate communicator. He started as a journalist with regional newspapers, traning with the South Wales Echo and Western Mail and later moving to Fleet Street.  Subsequently, he advised government ministers on presentational aspects of emerging policies, and operational emergencies.  He was appointed Head of PR for a blue chip company and was Deputy Managing Director of a PR consultancy with a broad range of clients.  Latterly, he has specialised in property and planning related communications.  His experience of crisis management is unrivalled, including wars, aviation and shipping disasters, strikes and terrorist incidents.
